Trains (Hopefully not buses)

"You're never going to forgive me, are you?" Haley said, "You know what? Nate and Vanessa can go to tea with Grandma. I don't want to." She refused to cry in public. Haley swallowed hard and shook her head. "I'm going back to New Haven."

"Thanks for telling me what I am and am not going to do," he said with a bit of a glare. "For the record, I was hoping that I could get a chance to talk to you before this thing with your grandmother about what happened. I was going to use the train to figure out what to say. But meeting you at the station caught me off guard and I didn't think it was okay to just up and say 'Hey, I was just wondering if you still wanted what we had going because it's kind of killing me how you keep pushing me aside because if you don't, I'll give you whatever kind of space you want' in the middle of the train station."

Haley wiped a tear from her eye. She hated that she could never really contain her emotions.

"I want to forgive you. I do," he said, brow furrowing. "And I'm freaking trying. I love you, Haley. But I don't know how many more times I can throw myself at your feet just to have you kick me. I'm more than willing to give you as much time and space as you need to; I just need to know what you want."

"I want to be with you." She said quietly as the tears silently fell from her eyes, "I love you so much and it scares me. Every person I've ever loved has left in some way. I don't want you to leave me."

"I wasn't going to. I'm not going to. Short of the hand of God or your word that you want me to."

Haley shook her head, "I don't want you to leave."

"Then I won't," he said simply.

"I love you Jack." She said quietly and looked up at him.

"I love you," he replied.

Haley stepped closer to him then put her arms around his neck and kissed him.

He kissed her until the cab came to the curb. He broke the kiss to open the door for her.

Haley smiled and got into the cab. When Jack was in as well, she told the cab driver where to go. "My car's parked in the garage near Serena's."

He nodded. "Is she back in New York too?"

"Nope." Haley said as she shook her head, "I think Clay was going up to visit her this weekend."

"Clay?" He shrugged. Probably a boyfriend. "And I meant what I asked earlier. How's the play going?"

Haley shrugged, "Serena's boyfriend and it's alright. It goes up in two weeks and Mischa's freaking out about it."

'Why? Are you nervous?"

She thought for a minute then shook her head, "Not really. It comes fairly naturally to me. But she's neurotic about performances."
