Haley shrugged, "I hope so. Vanessa seems to think that we have a good shot at it. I just wish that we didn't have to use Melissa." She rolled her eyes and took a sip of the water in front of her.

"She's going our make up and she's Miss Hastings' sister." Haley answered with a roll of her eyes, "But I don't trust her. I think she's up to something."

Haley looked at him, "To be completely honest." She began, "I think she's out for revenge against Miss Hastings. She seems like she wants to turn the squad against her." She sighed, "She made Serena miss her date with Clay."

"Do you know if anyone else gets that vibe from her?" He asked. "Sometimes your mind can play tricks with you, you know? But if more than one person feels that way then maybe there is something going on with this 'Melissa'."

She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear, "Yeah, maybe. I don't know, I know that Vanessa seems to have something up her sleeve which means that she doesn't trust her. And obviously, Miss Hastings is really on edge."

Their food arrived and he thanked the waitress. "All I have to say is, that's crazy and I'm glad I go to school in New Haven." Ben grinned.

He thought for a second. "Well, it was nice to have a girl around that wasn't a Blair Waldorf. But, I'm not supposed to get distracted, and you kind of counted as a distraction - no offence."

"You should be glad you're not Serena -" He began, almost forgetting that he was talking to her best friend. "I mean, uh, she's a nice girl and everything." He shoved in a mouthful of lasagna to shut himself up.

Haley laughed, "It is. One summer, Uncle Howie put in a dark room in the basement for my mom as a surprise." She grinned, "Nate and I kept her out all day so when she got home we could surprise her."

Haley smiled and nodded, "When she wasn't at work or with me, she was down there developing pictures. I used to love to watch her. She was so precise when she did it. I don't think I could ever be that careful."
