She walked into the club and it calmed her a little. She liked it here; it was a haven of lush colors and low sounds. She decided to sit at the bar and wait for him.

Chuck finished signing off on an order for Morgan then smiled when he saw her. "Who are you really, and what were you before? What did you do and what did you think, huh?"

She shook her head, laughing. "I already told you, Chuck and Bri-Bri don't make a porno." Pushing herself from the chair, she leaned over the bar and gave him a smile, hoping it didn't look anywhere near as nervous as she felt. "I really do need to borrow you though. It's kind of important."

She took a deep breath and turned, leaning against a chair and wrapping her arms around her stomach. "Yeah, a little." She didn't know why she couldn't look at him. This was so much easier in her head. "I'm pregnant." As soon as the words came out, she caught her lower lip with her teeth to keep anything else from slipping out.

"Yeah." She felt something hot welling up in her chest and had to tell herself over and over again that she wasn't going to panic and she sure as hell wasn't going to cry. She peeked at him through the corner of her eye, trying to gauge his reaction.

Chuck shrugged, "I don't know either. There are three clear options though: adoption, keeping it, and..." He trailed off, not really wanting to think of the other option.

"And a third option that is most definitely not going to happen," she said with a quick, certain shake of her head. "I mean, I'd...well, I'd like to keep it but..." And that but was what was driving her crazy; there was so many "cons" to the situation.
