Coming to America
He heads into Chuck's club and finds himself nodding as he looks around. It's a nice place. He gives a wink to one of the pretty girls--he doens't know if she's a patron or an employee and doesn't really care--before heading to the bar.

Chuck turned around and grinned, "I like it. I'm surprised it's doing as well as it is. How does it feel to be across the pond?"

He slides into a barstool beside his friend with a laugh. "It's...different. Can't say I'm much for American hospitality though," he snorts before catching the eye of the cute bartender. "The women on the other hand..."

"Anyone that's caught your eye?" Chuck asked as he ordered two scotches from the bartender.

"Not yet," he says with a grin. "Got any suggestions? Anois go bhfuil tú ag ceangailte síos, ciallóidh mé." He shakes his head incredulously. "You're married?" (Now that you're tied down, I mean.)

Chuck nodded, "What can I say? I go for the shock factor." He grinned and took a swig of his scotch. "Are you going to be enrolling in Saint Jude's?"

"Shock factor," he asks, laughing. "And what's your bird think about that?" He frowns when Chuck brings up school. "I wasn't planning on it," he admits. "I spend more time working the pub than I do at school anyway."

"She's the same way I am. It was more than just the shock factor." Chuck told his friend, "I do love her."

"Comhghairdeas ansin, mo chara," he says with an honest smile. "May the two of you be happy." He raises a hand to his ear with a laugh. "What's that I hear? The sound of broken hearts all across Europe?" (Congratulations then, my friend.)

"Well, apparently there are going to be more broken hearts across the pond." Chuck grinned mischievously. "The Princess of Spain is currently dating one of my best friends. I don't think it'll be too long before he pops the question."

"Dumb luck I suppose." Chuck said with a shrug. "That's the only way I can think of. Nathaniel's not the sharpest tool in the shed."

"That's some luck," he admits. "Well congratulations to the two of you." He throws his head back and laughs after a moment. " Mum's going to be happy to hear you've found someone that'll put up with you."

Chuck laughed and shook his head, "Now she only has to pray for you to find someone to put up with you." He grinned and finished off his scotch.

"She's given up on that," he says, shaking his head. "She's realized I'm married to two things. The pub and having a good time when I'm not working." His smile fell. "Tá sí ag fáil bháis." (She's dying.)

Chuck shook his head and the smile disappeared from his face. "I'm sorry to hear that. She'll definitely be missed."

He nods and stares down at his hands. "D'iarr sí é a fheiceáil arís." He can't think anymore, let alone translate what was spilling from his mouth into managable English. "D'iarr sí liom a fháil dó. Agus bhí tú ag an duine amháin a shíl mé a d'fhéadfadh cabhrú leat. Tá brón orm."
(She asked to see him again. She asked me to find him. And you were the only one I thought could help. I'm sorry.)

"I'd be happy to help." Chuck assured him and pulled out his cell phone and flipped through his contacts. "I'm looking for the number of the PI I used for Haley. He's the best in the business."
